Participation in digital survey possible

Since the Frankfurt-Słubice Future Conference in September 2021, joint, sustainable urban development has been a key topic of cooperation between the two cities and is also increasingly arousing scientific interest. Corresponding projects are supported by the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Construction and the Robert Bosch Foundation.

Dr. Sarah Gottwald from the Leuphana University of Lüneburg and Dr. Iga Kołodyńska from the University of Environmental Sciences Wrocław are leading a research project on the connections between mobility and sense of place in a cross-border context.

Research is being conducted in the twin cities of Frankfurt-Słubice and Guben-Gubin. The two researchers want to find out which needs are central to citizens in terms of sustainable urban development. To do this, the researchers are using digital maps on which people can enter places that are important to them and their wishes for change. In this way, an interactive map is created that depicts cross-border life.

The survey is accessible at the link https://app.maptionnaire.com/q/6ti6zzm4exa9 in German, Polish, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian.

Vouchers of value will be raffled among all participants.

The collected data will be anonymized. The results will be published and will be incorporated into the projects of the Frankfurt and Słubice city authorities.

The second Frankfurt-Słubice Citizens' Picnic on Cross-Border Urban Development on Friday, May 12, 2023 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Plac Sybiraków, Słubice will also provide information on the survey and other dual-city projects.
