Preparations for the ‘National Reading Aloud Day’ have begun. On 20 November, people across the country will once again be reading aloud. The Stiftung Lesen is calling on as many people as possible to read aloud in as many places as possible on this day.
The Frankfurt (Oder) Adult Education Centre (VHS) is coordinating the reading-aloud events in the city. To this end, it is already looking for readers, as well as children’s groups and other interested groups who would like to hear a story. This year’s Reading Aloud Day has the theme ‘I’m reading aloud – will you join me?’. Reading aloud together brings people closer and fosters a sense of connection. But it can do even more: it is the most important foundation for learning to read well and encourages children to discover the world with curiosity.
