Kolorierter Stahlstich der Stadt Frankfurt (Oder) © Dr. Sonja Michaels

The Association of Friends and Supporters of the Viadrina Museum was recently able to acquire another print for the Municipal Museum. The colored steel engraving is largely a copy of a lithograph by the artist Friedrich Heinrich Bils (1801–1853) from before 1826, the year in which the south tower of St. Mary's Church collapsed, which is still depicted on the acquired print.

The colored city view from the early 19th century is another piece of the puzzle of the city's history. The colored city view from the early 19th century is another piece of the puzzle of the city's history, after the Frankfurt museum collection was completely lost in the turmoil of the Second World War.

The association is currently trying to acquire a rare and culturally valuable grinding jug from the middle of the 17th century. This belonged to the once important Frankfurt weavers' guild.

The association's latest purchase project can be supported by donating to the account of the Association of Friends and Sponsors of the Viadrina Museum.
