The tour loops over the hills of Märkische Schweiz, offering a varied landscape, sweeping views and plenty of food for numerous organic destinations. The start is at Strausberg-Nord S-Bahn station, then cyclists follow the signposted Oberbarnimer Feldsteinroute. The route runs through villages whose houses and walls are mostly built from rustic field stones of different colours. The well-maintained cycle path leads past Strausberg airfield and through fields and meadows via Klosterdorf to Prädikow. The farm of the same name has been renovated for several years and developed into a place to live, work and enjoy culture. There is a break at the Schwarzer Storch café.
From Prädikow, everyone rides along a tarmac cycle path via Reichenow to Ihlow. In the idyllic garden of the Biohof Ihlow organic farm, owner Marion Rothschild takes us on a tour of the unspoilt grounds after a slice of homemade cake and shows us the holiday flats, tiny house and tent meadow. The route continues via Reichenberg, past Pritzhagen and a few kilometres through the Stobbertal nature reserve, where you may have to push a few metres on forest paths, but the magical view of the enchanted Großer Tornowsee lake makes up for it.
Alternatively, you can take a tarmac country road directly to Buckow. The Buckower Köstlichkeiten organic food shop is a great place to take a break with homemade cakes and coffee. Cycle on and stock up on goodies from regional organic producers at the Bergschäferei farm shop in Waldsieversdorf. The cyclists then reach a lovely swimming spot on the Langen See for a break. One last stop to buy honey from the Lahres organic beekeeping farm in Garzau, then everyone is back in Strausberg.

The day tour over 56 km (average speed 19-21 km/h) is suitable for everyday bikes, mountain bikes and pedelecs. It includes a swimming break, a visit to a restaurant or the possibility of a picnic (self-catering).

Please note the following:
On the route there are two local crossings with unpleasant cobblestones, which unfortunately cannot be bypassed. If necessary, the scenic route at Tornowsee, which leads through narrow, sometimes uneven forest paths (with a steep incline), can also be bypassed on asphalt. Not all organic farms are always open. If there are any changes to the tour, this information will be available at ADFC by 6 p.m. the day before at the latest.
Bio by Bike:
The organic bike tours are organised by the ADFC Berlin e.V. in cooperation with the FÖL (Fördergemeinschaft Ökologischer Landbau Berlin-Brandenburg). On scenic routes, participants stop off at organic farms, farm shops, manufactories and organic restaurants.
