
On November 5, 2025, the Märkisch-Oderland district council set an important personnel policy course for the future management of the administrative departments. Danny Jenssen and Bianka Boss, two experienced and highly qualified managers, were elected as new deputies.
District Administrator Gernot Schmidt ceremoniously presented them with their certificates of appointment at yesterday's district council meeting. They also took their oath of office and pledged to carry out their future duties conscientiously.
District Administrator Gernot Schmidt emphasized the importance of the personnel decisions: "With Ms Boss and Mr Jenssen, we are gaining two competent leaders who will provide important impetus for the future development of our district with their expertise and commitment."
Danny Jenssen will take office on 1 April 2026 and succeed Rainer Schinkel, who is retiring. Jenssen is currently Treasurer and Deputy Mayor of Bad Freienwalde and has extensive experience in finance and administration. As the new head of Department 1, he will also take over the duties of the treasurer in future.
Bianka Boss will take over the management of Department 4 and the Office for Agriculture and the Environment from January 1, 2026. Boss has several years of professional experience in consulting, management and organizational development and is currently head of the feed and soil testing department at the Berlin-Brandenburg State Control Association.
The district of Märkisch-Oderland is looking forward to working with her and wishes both deputies a successful start to their new areas of responsibility.
