Musical Advent program with Dagmar Berghoff

The program at "Sternsinger und Sauerkraut" on 7 December at Frankfurt's Theaterhaus Kleist Forum is both cheerful and contemplative. Newsreel legend Dagmar Berghoff will read pre-Christmas texts by Paulo Coelho, Selma Lagerlöf and Bertolt Brecht, among others. She will be accompanied by singer Felicitas Breest and pianist Siegfried Gerlich with songs and arias by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Richard Wagner, Antonín Dvořák and Giacomo Puccini.

Dagmar Berghoff, was the first woman on the Tagesschau and its anchorwoman from 1976 to New Year's Eve 1999. During this time, she presented various TV entertainment programs such as the ARD Wunschkonzert, the NDR talk show, as well as major TV galas and the annual circus festival from Paris. Felicitas Breest is a singer and actress. As a singer – at home in classical music – she has a special love for lieder. She also likes to devote herself to lesser-known song composers. In recent years, she has increasingly developed programs with literary and biographical texts. Siegfried Gerlich is a freelance pianist and lecturer at the Hamburg School of Drama. He has worked with Eva-Maria Hagen, Hannelore Hoger and Eva Mattes, among others, has been the musical director of various German theaters and cultural festivals and has written compositions for stage plays and audio books.
