All-day hourly service - More service on weekends - Short transfer times to the S-Bahn and regional train
.In the counties of Märkisch-Oderland and Oder-Spree, three new PlusBus lines have been operating under the name 'PlusBus Oderland-Spree' since the timetable change on December 11, 2022. Two of the lines are cross-county and thus strengthen the offer of public transport in the region.
.With another line in the district of Märkisch-Oderland and the first two lines in the district of Oder-Spree, the transport offer in the region is significantly improved by the PlusBus Oderland-Spree. With its clear frequency and short transfer times at the train station, the PlusBus provides more flexibility to cover daily journeys by public transport. For commuters, recreation seekers, schoolchildren and trainees, there are new attractive connections:
Line 950 S Strausberg - S Erkner
.
The cross-county line 950 of Märkisch-Oderland Bus (mobus), the highest-volume line in Märkisch-Oderland, already has a strong offer and now operates accordingly under the name PlusBus Oderland-Spree. In Erkner there are timely connections to the regional express RE1 from/to Berlin and to the S-Bahn, in Strausberg there is a connection to the regional train RB26 from/to Berlin and to the S-Bahn.
.
Without a change, line 950 offers a direct connection of the S-Bahn stops Strausberg and Erkner. In Erkner there is a transition to the PlusBus line 420.
Line 420 S Erkner - S Neuenhagen
.
The line 420 of Busverkehr Oder-Spree GmbH (BOS) from Erkner to Schöneiche is extended to Neuenhagen and upgraded to PlusBus: For passengers, this means significant improvements due to the direct and fast connection of the two S-Bahn stations Neuenhagen and Erkner -a change via Berlin-Ostkreuz is no longer necessary. In Erkner, line 420 offers connections to the RE1 in/from both directions and to the S-Bahn to/from Berlin, in Neuenhagen to the S-Bahn. This closes the gap between the S3 and S5 axes. Through the extension of the line over the district border to Neuenhagen, the Schöneiche Nord industrial park is now also accessible by bus.
Line 435 Fürstenwalde - Storkow
The line 435 of the BOS is upgraded with attractive all-day hourly service from 5 to 21 o'clock and expanded offer on weekends to the PlusBus. It connects Fürstenwalde via Reichenwalde with Storkow. In Fürstenwalde, there are connections to the RE1 from/to Berlin and in Storkow to the RB36 from/to Frankfurt/Oder and Königs Wusterhausen. In Storkow and Reichenwalde there are connections to the flexible pick-up service DALLI, which meanwhile upgrades the urban area of Storkow and parts of the Scharmützelsee district in the form of on-demand transport.
Votes on the PlusBus
Guido Beermann, Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Planning of the State of Brandenburg: "The Plus-Bus is a Brandenburg success story, which is now also an example beyond our state borders. Since the launch of the concept in 2014, we were able to significantly expand the offer. In 2022 alone, 5 new Plus Buses were implemented. At the end of the year, we are making a final spurt and launching three new routes. We are even celebrating a premiere in the Oder-Spree district. I am pleased that we have once again succeeded in creating two cross-county routes. This brings us another step closer to our goal of creating well-connected, climate-friendly mobility services throughout Brandenburg. We want to continue to support the counties, independent cities transport companies to introduce more PlusBus lines in the future."
Gernot Schmidt, District Administrator in the county of Märkisch-Oderland: "After several years of construction on the Strausberg-Erkner route, we are now on the road for the next time without detours and are pleased to be able to offer our passengers with it a stable cycle. For this reason, the previous slightly different departure times between vacations and school and weekdays and weekends have been optimized to a uniform grid."
Rolf Lindemann Landrat im Landkreis Oder-Spree: "With the two PlusBus lines 420 and 435, the Oder-Spree district also participates in the lighthouse project of transport turnaround in rural areas. Through the reliable and sustainable linking of the modes of transport rail and road, can be offered without regard to district borders a real alternative to the car."
.Daniel Kunath, Managing Director mobus Märkisch-Oderland Bus GmbH: "Line 950 is the highest-volume line in Märkisch-Oderland. It connects the terminus of the S-Bahn S5 and S3 east of Berlin. With the establishment as a PlusBus line, the previously different departure times from Monday to Friday with those on weekends are optimized to a uniform schedule and are thus even more customer-friendly. Due to the high passenger demand, there are also additional trips during the weekday rush hour in addition to the one-hour interval standardized for PlusBuses. At both S-Bahn stations, it is possible to transfer to regional and S-Bahn trains as well as to other bus lines. In Rüdersdorf, you can also change to streetcar 88 to Berlin-Friedrichshagen."
Bernd Wölfel, DB Regio Bus Ost, chairman of the regional management: "With the PlusBussen, we also bring the transport turnaround out into the country. For us, it does not end at the city limits, because Deutsche Bahn with its buses stands for good mobility throughout Germany. We thank the VBB, the state of Brandenburg and the participating counties that this succeeds so well here."
Jürgen Roß, VBB division manager for planning and passenger information: "We are pleased that the PlusBus family is growing. With the new PlusBus lines 950, 420 and 435 now drive in the VBB country 37 lines in 12 of 14 counties according to the reliable PlusBus concept. Experience shows: with higher quality in bus transport, there is also an increase in passengers."
PlusBus - Background
In December 2014, the first three lines in the Potsdam-Mittelmark district started as PlusBus Hoher Fläming. This marked the launch of the PlusBus brand in Brandenburg and marked the beginning of a network-wide implementation. Outside Brandenburg, too, the PlusBus brand stands for high-quality interval services in regional bus transport (e.g. Saxony). To ensure the consistent quality of PlusBus services, lines operating under the PlusBus brand must meet agreed quality criteria. These include regular interval service, weekend service and a timely rail-bus transition.
