From international law, politics, language and economics to conflict research – the expertise on Ukraine at the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) is diverse and in-depth. In order to make the experts even more accessible to interested parties from the media, politics, education and society, Viadrina now offers an expert service Ukraine.
Around 40 researchers from Viadrina and partner institutions can be found according to their subject areas and possible interview languages. The expert service was developed at the Viadrina Centre of Polish and Ukrainian Studies (VCPU) with the support of the Marga and Kurt Möllgaard Foundation.
About the Expert Service Ukraine
"At Viadrina, we attach great importance to dialogue with politics and civil society and invite interested parties to get in touch with the experts," says Prof. Dr Dagmara Jajeśniak-Quast, Head of the VCPU, on the occasion of the opening of the Expert Service. She emphasises: "In addition to the knowledge of Viadrina researchers, users can also benefit from our extensive network of experts in and outside Ukraine. We see it as our task to bring this expertise to the German public."
The Expert Service Ukraine provides access to expertise in the specialist disciplines of peace and conflict research, history, culture and language, politics and society as well as law and economics. It also offers a list of interview languages to take account of the multilingual research and media landscape.
"The involvement of young researchers was a particular concern of ours," emphasises Prof. Dr Dagmara Jajeśniak-Quast. In addition to the expert service, the VCPU's measures in collaboration with the Marga and Kurt Möllgaard Foundation also include further training programmes in the field of science communication and exchanges with media representatives.
