How is antisemitism dealt with in European legal systems? What insights can legal practice and comparative perspectives provide for combating discrimination? A new database as part of the "Seeing Antisemitism Through Law" project funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) provides an insight into around 1,000 court cases from Poland, Germany, France and the UK concerning antisemitism.
On Thursday, September 25, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., the resulting database will be presented at the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder). The event can also be followed online via Zoom.
After introductory words by the main researcher Dr. Reut Yael Paz, international researchers and practitioners will speak in two rounds about how anti-Semitism is negotiated in European courts. The speakers will offer insights from research, advocacy, prosecution and legal practice.
