The KulturPass is an offer from the German government for all those who reach the age of 18 in 2023. They receive a virtual budget of 200.00 euros, which they can use for tickets, books, CDs, records and the like. Thus, culture becomes easier to experience locally and at the same time cultural offerings experience greater visibility.
The KulturPass app has been available since June 14, 2023. It includes a wealth of cultural institutions and creative experiences for young people. Various cultural institutions in Frankfurt (Oder) are also taking part in the campaign, offering a portfolio of cultural highlights.
The KulturPass is aimed at the aforementioned target group residing in Germany, regardless of their nationality. Participants receive a virtual budget that they can use within two years via the KulturPass app. The prerequisite is proof via electronic ID card, eID card (for EU citizens) or electronic residence permit (for third-country nationals). After online registration in the app, the budget of 200.00 euros can be unlocked and used for participation in cultural events and offerings.
About the KulturPass young people should be given new access to culture. Especially during the pandemic, these experiences could not be made or only to a limited extent. At the same time, the numerous cultural providers were strongly affected by the impact of the Corona protection measures.
In Frankfurt (Oder), for example, the Messe und Veranstaltungs GmbH with its Kleist Forum, the Brandenburg State Orchestra Frankfurt and the Singakademie Frankfurt (Oder) e.V. put various offers via the KulturPass app, which can be explored in this way.
