For the Frankfurt artist Ilusch, who is only 15 years old, a dream becomes reality: from September 28 to November 4, ten of his works will be on display as part of a joint exhibition of young artist:inside in the "Galeria Azur" in New York's most famous district Manhattan. "That makes me insanely happy and honors me above all very much, after all, New York is one of the world's art capitals," says Ilusch, who will be present at the vernissage.
The Frankfurt Kleist Forum congratulates him warmly on this success. "We are very pleased that such a young person gets this great opportunity and are proud that we can also give him a stage," says Florian Vogel, the artistic director of the house. Guests of the Kleist Forum are familiar with Ilusch's works: two of his large-format paintings have adorned the stairways to the foyer since summer 2022. "The Apple" and "El Toro" are the titles of the expressive paintings, which were created in a mixture of oil and acrylic on canvas.
"Abstract, expressionistic, personal and very emotional," is how the 15-year-old describes his style. "I process in my paintings what happens to me in my everyday life: Experiences, relationships, encounters." He finds inspiration not only in Frankfurt (Oder), but also in his second home, Tenerife. And so many pictures are also created as a tribute to the Spanish island.
Since 2021, his works have been on display in various exhibitions, including in Frankfurt (Oder), Tenerife and at the Art Expo in Zurich. The New York gallery became aware of Ilusch and his art via social media: @studio_ilusch is the name of his Instagram channel.
