"What if..." is the question actress Jutta Speidel, known from film and television, tries to answer in her book "Amaryllis" . On March 22, she will read from the novel, which is autobiographical but nonetheless fictional, at Frankfurt's Kleist Forum.

She will be accompanied by her daughter Antonia Feuerstein (vocals) and Peter Rodekuhr on the piano. With thematically appropriate well-known titles from the past 70 years, the result is a fascinating mixture of reading and concert.

Jutta Speidel

Frank, cheerful, profound and very intense, Jutta Speidel tells the story of Valerie's life between 1954 and 2024. Even as a child, she dreamed of becoming famous as a great artist and female clown in the male-dominated circus world. Her life takes many detours and is characterized by great love, but also by hope, tragedy, renunciation, betrayal and reconciliation. With Valerie, she has invented a novel character who could be herself, but is purely fictional, says Jutta Speidel about her main character. With her, she explored the idea of what would have happened if... If she had been given a different name, had not become an actress, had lived in a different country. The result is a story without resignation, but with the message that you should be open to new paths throughout your life.
