On Thursday, March 6, the Center for Teaching and Learning (ZLL) of the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) invites you to the Long Writing Day. Between 10:00 and 18:00, numerous workshops, consultation hours and joint writing times will take place at the Viadrina and online, which students and teachers of the Viadrina and other universities as well as other people with writing projects can use free of charge.

For the 15th time, the ZLL is organizing a format for students and lecturers to work on postponed writing projects and write in productive company. The Long Writing Day is framed by an AI lab, an open writing consultation hour, pop-up workshops and advice for teaching staff. Back in 2010, the format - then called the Long Night of Writing - was a movement launched by the Viadrina Writing Center, which has since been joined by universities worldwide.

About the program

The hybrid "Shut Up and Write!" takes place in the Co-Writing Space in the Gräfin-Dönhoff building, Europaplatz 1, room GD 03. In addition to writing times, pop-up workshops will be offered on the topics of concentration, learning and stress management; a short yoga session will provide relaxation in between. In the open writing consultation hour, students receive feedback and support on their writing projects.

In parallel, the KI Lab also invites students to experiment with and discuss the use of AI in the scientific work process at various stations, both on site and online. Teachers can also work on their texts in a concentrated writing time or revise their teaching sequences with AI experts, for example on the question of how AI tools can be used for academic writing in their teaching.
