In this week the care and geriatrics network Frankfurt (Oder) invited together with the business development Brandenburg GmbH (WFBB) to the 1st symposium for the recruitment of employees in the health care sector.

The symposium was held in cooperation with the city of Frankfurt (Oder) and was aimed primarily at managers in facilities and institutions in the health sector in Frankfurt (Oder) and the region.

Under the theme: "Attention gold dust: attract and retain employees for the health care system!" around 60 participants from more than 30 facilities and institutions exchanged views on issues relating to the situation of employees in the healthcare sector and discussed current and future challenges. In addition to topics such as employer attractiveness, experiences were shared and new ideas developed and discussed.

In his greeting, Jens-Marcel Ullrich, Alderman for Youth, Social Affairs and Health of the City of Frankfurt (Oder) addressed the future challenges, praising the initiative of the symposium with its networking character: "Only together will we be able to develop solution strategies to counter the already existing shortage of skilled workers." At the same time, the alderman thanked the head of the Department of Social Affairs Family Care Policy and Integration in the Ministry of Social Affairs Health Integration and Consumer Protection of the State of Brandenburg Rainer Liesegang for the funding program "Pact for Care" launched in 2021.

In addition to the professional exchange, the day offered space for networking of facilities and institutions in the health care sector and served to get to know the network structures in care and health.

20 facilities of outpatient and inpatient care as well as pharmacies are active in the nursing and geriatrics network Frankfurt (Oder), which was founded in 2019.

By the broad opening of the network, moreover, all regional stakeholders are invited to participate in the projects of the network and to contribute their ideas.
