In the district of Märkisch-Oderland, the ELINA APP will be available in the future.
ELINA is a digital parent information system that was developed to publicize regional support services in matters of child development.
The app was developed by the Elbe Elster district from federal funds of early assistance. The expansion of this app to other counties and independent cities in Brandenburg was carried out through start-up funding from federal funds of early assistance by the State Coordination of Early Assistance on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the State of Brandenburg.
ELINA contains comprehensive information for pregnant women and parents with newborns or small children from 0-3 years ready and leads nearly 1,000 offers approximately around pregnancy, early childhood and parenthood. This includes, for example, information on birth preparation, the "Healthy Children Network", the SchreiBabyAmbulanz, maternity clinics and daycare facilities, as well as daycare.
By linking to other sources of information, e.g. on child benefit, parental allowance, advance maintenance payments, users no longer need to search on various websites. With this app, parents receive information from a single source.
ELINA can also be used as an organization/reminder medium and source of information for upcoming check-ups during pregnancy, vaccinations, early detection examinations or other errands during and after pregnancy. Overall, the app functions as a factual guide with many additional support functions and gets by with bullet points, without long text explanations.
From the point of view of the users' lifeworld, parents in many places move across county borders, e.g.: do not seek out the pediatrician in their county, but the nearest one, which may be located in the neighboring county. Even when searching for specific early help services, parents do not necessarily find them in their own county. By using the radius search, users can thus also quickly find services that extend beyond the county border.
In addition to the main target group, the expectant parents and parents of children up to the age of 3, professionals in the field of "early help" can also make good use of the app in their daily work due to the high information content.
ELINA is free, easily accessible and can be used with any smartphone or tablet that maintains an iOS (Apple) or Android (Google) operating system.
