For International Women's Day 2024, the Kleist Museum, the Brandenburgischer Literaturrat e.V. and the City and Regional Library, supported by the city's Equal Opportunities Officer, have put together a program for International Women's Day on 8 March as part of the 34th Brandenburg Women's Weeks.

Talk on Women's Day: Marie von Kleist – patron and confidante
To kick off the joint events for this year's Women's Day, Viviane Jasmin Meierdreeß invites you to get to know Marie von Kleist. As lady-in-waiting to Luise of Prussia, among other things, she supported Kleist, who was closely associated with her until the end of his life.

Opening Pop-Up Exhibition: Women and East German Identity
On the occasion of Women's Day, the City and Regional Library presents a selection of books by contemporary female authors that deal with East German identity.
The selected books will be on display at the Kleist Museum from March 8 to 24.
Admission is free.

What remains: GDR women writers and their perception today
Carolin Würfel presents her book "Drei Frauen träumten vom Sozialismus", which traces the writers Brigitte Reimann, Maxie Wander and Christa Wolf.
Moderation: Friederike Frach, musical accompaniment: Heike Mildner, the singing publisher from Oderbruch.
