On Thursday, November 28, 2024 at 5 p.m., the exhibition "Tri-tra-trullala...! Kasper and his friends are here!" at the Museum Viadrina (Junkerhaus). Cornelia Fritzsche, a qualified puppeteer from Dresden, will give an introduction to hand puppetry. Admission to the vernissage is free.

The special exhibition presents the heroes of the puppet stage as well as the history of hand puppetry, which was not originally intended for children, but primarily served to "educate the people" and entertain adults. The puppeteers, mostly organized in family businesses, led a life on the margins of society as members of the "travelling people".

The twins Irmgard and Christa Pastors from the Rhineland have been collecting Punch and Judy puppets for decades, which will now be on display in a special exhibition.

The two collectors will be in Frankfurt (Oder) from Monday, 25 November to accompany the exhibition set-up.
