On Tuesday, September 30, 2025, the fall semester of the German-Polish Senior Academy begins. The official opening will take place at 3 p.m. in the small lecture hall of the Collegium Polonium. To kick things off, participants can look forward to the lecture "Growth without end?" by Dr. Krzysztof Wojciechowski.

In his lecture, Dr. Wojciechowski questions the phase of economic growth that has lasted since the Industrial Revolution around 250 years ago. Politicians talk about the need to stimulate further economic growth. But is economic growth still possible at all? Will it go on forever?

The lecture series, which runs until December 2025, offers senior citizens a wide range of informative and stimulating topics. During the event, information will also be provided on further lectures, a culture-based language course and digital support services until December.

Attendance at the event is free of charge. Prior registration is not required. The lectures will be simultaneously translated into German and Polish.

The German-Polish Seniors' Academy is being held in cooperation with the Collegium Polonicum Foundation, the Karl Dedecius Foundation, the Adam Mickiewicz University of Poznań, the European University Viadrina, Wohnungswirtschaft Frankfurt (Oder) GmbH, the Seniors' Advisory Council of the City of Frankfurt (Oder) and the Frankfurt-Słubice Cooperation Center.

The event is sponsored by the Foundation for German-Polish Cooperation.
