Hybrid-electric propulsion systems, sustainable aircraft technologies and new approaches to climate-friendly flying are the focus of the trade fair presence of Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) and the Center for Hybrid Electric Systems Cottbus (chesco) at the ILA Berlin Air Show 2026.
With their research into hybrid and electric propulsion systems and innovative manufacturing and testing processes, BTU and chesco are making an important contribution to the transformation of aviation towards greater climate compatibility. From 10 to 14 June, researchers from the university will be presenting their current work at the joint stand of the Berlin-Brandenburg capital region in Hall B, Stand 320.
Manufacturing technologies for the aerospace of tomorrow
The chesco research factory brings together the development, production, testing and validation of new components and drive systems at one location. Scientists use various demonstrators to show the entire range of modern manufacturing processes - from classic machining and additive manufacturing to the combination of both technologies in hybrid processes. This will show how digital development, flexible manufacturing and sustainable production can interact in the future. In this way, chesco is creating the conditions for transferring new technologies into industrial applications more quickly and strengthening the competitiveness of climate-friendly aviation.

As part of a backstage tour, Brandenburg's Minister President Dietmar Woidke and Berlin's Governing Mayor Kai Wegner will visit the joint stand of the Berlin-Brandenburg capital region together with around 40 journalists. The visit to the BTU/chesco stand is scheduled to last about five minutes.
