Focus on digitalisation: lecture series at Viadrina brings science and business together

How is digitalisation changing the world of work, companies and family life? These are the questions addressed by the lecture series "Digitalisation in dialogue between campus and companies", which will take place at the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) from Wednesday, 22 April. The aim of the series of events is to promote dialogue between students, academia and regional companies and to discuss current developments relating to digital transformation in a practical way. The topics range from medical content in social media to gamification in human resources and cyber risks for companies.

"Digitalisation is changing almost all areas of the economy and society. With the lecture series, we want to give students and interested parties from the region an insight into the practice and at the same time strengthen the dialogue between the university and regional companies," says Prof. Dr Georg Stadtmann. The holder of the Chair of Macroeconomics is organising the series of events together with the Transfer Office of the European University Viadrina.

On six dates in the summer semester, each Wednesday from 4.15 to 5.45 p.m., speakers from companies and the Viadrina will report on practical experiences and findings from academia. The presentations are followed by a discussion and Q&A session, which allows for direct dialogue with the audience. The venue is the new Viadrina Coworking Space at Logenstraße 3 in Frankfurt (Oder).

20 May: Prof. Dr. Lauri Wessel (European New School of Digital Studies, Viadrina)  on the topic "'Now put down your mobile phone' – smartphones and media time in everyday family life"

27 May: Dr Erik Hermann (Viadrina) on "(How) is AI changing the world of work? Opportunities and risks"
