On December 13, 2024, the first small projects were approved in the Gorzów office of the Euroregion at the 1st meeting of the Euroregional Steering Committee (ELA) for the small project funds in the PRO EUROPA VIADRINA Euroregion.

Within the framework of the INTERREG VI A Brandenburg – Poland 2021–2027 cooperation program, the PRO EUROPA VIADRINA Euroregion is offering German and Polish interested parties a total of 2 small project funds with a total volume of around EUR 8.25 million:

  • Small project fund "CULTURE & TOURISM" within priority 3: "An attractive border region – education, culture and tourism" in specific objective 4.6: "Strengthening the role of culture and sustainable tourism for economic development, social inclusion and social innovation" of the INTERREG VI A Brandenburg – Poland 2021–2027 cooperation program
  • Small Projects Fund "COOPERATION" within Priority 4: "A dialogue-oriented border area – cooperation between institutions and the population" in Specific Objective 6.3: "Building mutual trust, in particular by promoting cooperation between citizens" of the INTERREG VI A Brandenburg – Poland 2021–2027 cooperation program.

After the official start of funding from the small project funds in the PRO EUROPA VIADRINA Euroregion a few months ago, we were delighted to see the lively interest and broad response from applicants, which was reflected in countless consultations and numerous project applications.


As a result of the examination of the project applications submitted as part of the application acceptance process carried out in the two offices of our Euroregion,

  • a total of 65 project applications with a total value of EUR 715.949.23 EUR EFRE
  • for the Small Projects Fund "CULTURE & TOURISM" a total of 12 project applications with a total value of 256.673.26 EUR EFRE

to the Euroregional Steering Committee on 13.12.2024 for approval.


In addition to the regular German and Polish members of the Euroregional Steering Committee, the meeting, which also had a constituent character, was also actively attended by representatives of the program institutions, including the Head of the Managing Authority of the INTERREG VI A Brandenburg – Poland 2021–2027 cooperation program in the Ministry of Finance and Europe of the State of Brandenburg, Ms. Martyna Adamczyk, the Team Leader INTERREG in the Investment Bank of the State of Brandenburg, Ms. Simone Spahn, as the approving body and German auditor of the cooperation programme, and the Director of the Department for EU and Government Programs in the Lubusz Voivodeship Office, Ms. Agnieszka Świątek, as the representative of the Polish national auditor of the cooperation programme.

As a result of constructive discussions and a lively exchange, the Euroregional Steering Committee for the Small Project Funds in the PRO EUROPA VIADRINA Euroregion was pleased to approve all 77 small projects submitted with a total value of €972,622.49 EFRE.

Mittlere Oder e.V. is a supporting institution of Euroregion PRO EUROPA VIADRINA (German side), EUROPE DIRECT Frankfurt (Oder), Central Office of the German-Polish Youth Office for the State of Brandenburg for extracurricular youth exchange and the Small Projects Fund within the framework of INTERREG.

Together with the Polish supporting association Stowarzyszenie Gmin Polskich Euroregionu "Pro Europa Viadrina", Mittlere Oder e.V. has been working for over 30 years to initiate, coordinate and promote cross-border German-Polish cooperation, to intensify exchange and partnerships in all areas of public life and to promote encounters and mutual understanding between Germans and Poles.

In the last 28 years (1995-2023), thanks to the financial support of the European Union, a total of EUR 16.2 million from the Small Projects Fund of the PRO EUROPA VIADRINA Euroregion has been handed out to a total of 4,143 cross-border German-Polish projects, involving hundreds of thousands of Polish and German inhabitants of our Euroregion. Since 2016 alone, 1,007 small projects with a funding volume of around EUR 7.74 million have been implemented on both sides of the Oder as part of the INTERREG V A Brandenburg – Poland 2014–2020 cooperation programme; 140,445 project participants from the German and Polish parts of the PRO EUROPA VIADRINA Euroregion have actively taken part in these projects.
