The 40-minute documentary film "Transit Frankfurt (Oder)" by Grimme Prize winner Loretta Walz, Knut Gerwers and Konrad Tschäpe is to accompany the future permanent exhibition on the Frankfurt (Oder) human lock in the post-war period. The film is about displaced persons, political persecutees, war returnees and Polish Siberian deportees. Their lives crossed in the years after the end of the war in Frankfurt and Słubice.

The backdrop for the film is the city of Frankfurt (Oder), which was badly affected by the Second World War. It is divided in 1945 and now, together with its sister city Słubice, inscribes itself in the biographies of people who had to experience bitter hardship, violence and uprooting at a young age.

After the film screening, there will be an opportunity for discussion with Dr. Karl-Konrad Tschäpe about the film and the planned new exhibition project at the memorial.

Registration is not required and admission is free.

It is an event in cooperation with the Protestant church community Frankfurt (Oder)/Lebus and the Adult Education Center Frankfurt (Oder).
