On Tuesday, June 3, 2025, the film "Der Fall X" will be shown at the Viadrina Museum from 5.00 to 6.30 pm: a cinematic tour of West Berlin in the 1980s, seemingly touristy, actually the image of strategic points in the event of an occupation.
The film was one of the building blocks for Fall X, the military conquest of West Berlin. In the event of a military conflict, the Warsaw Pact planned a blitzkrieg against Western Europe, in which the troops would be on the Rhine after just seven days. Planning games were held every year. The film is reminiscent of this Cold War scenario.
A discussion follows.
