On Friday, November 29, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. at the Museum Viadrina (Junkerhaus), the film "Feindbilder: The photos and videos of the Stasi" will be shown. This will be followed by a discussion.
35 years ago, 25,000 Frankfurters marched from Leipziger Platz to the former "District Office for National Security", a place previously known for the district administration of the Ministry for State Security. They demanded transparency and disclosure of the conditions of detention in Frankfurt's secret service prison. It was the second largest demonstration of the Peaceful Revolution in Frankfurt (Oder).
On this occasion and in addition to the event in the first half of the year, further films from the State Security collection are now being shown. One million photos and around 5,000 film recordings from the GDR secret service have been preserved. Holger Kulick has sifted through these and compiled extensive parts of them thematically. Together with the audience, parts of this collection will be viewed and discussed.
