20-member delegation from Frankfurt (Oder) and Słubice took part in the Hanseatic Day

The 43rd International Hanseatic Day ended on Sunday, June 25, 2023. The four-day annual event, held by the Hanseatic League of Modern Times, took place this time in Toruń, one of the most beautiful cities in Poland.

About 700 delegates from 70 cities and eleven countries made the festival of tradition and international understanding a great experience for Toruńs inhabitants and their guests. The world of the Hanseatic League came alive with numerous activities. Many Hanseatic cities were represented with their own stands at the specially set up Hanseatic Market. Here, those interested could find out about travel offers and sample local specialties, among other things. Dance and music groups from the Hanseatic cities performed on stages or spontaneously on the next street corner, giving the Hansa Day a very special flair. In addition, the annual delegates' meeting of the Hanseatic League of Modern Times took place, as always, within the framework of the Hanseatic Day.

The European Twin City Frankfurt (Oder)/Słubice was represented by a 20-strong delegation. In addition to Frankfurt's Lord Mayor René Wilke, the Słubice Mayor Mariusz Olejniczak, the chairman of the Frankfurt City Council Wolfgang Neumann, the first alderman Claus Junghanns and the head of department Milena Manns included, for example, the musicians of the Frankfurt group Family Gerstenberg and the girls of the Ginger Dance School from Słubice. Employees of the administration and the city marketing as well as citizens of the twin city completed the delegation.

Milena Manns, Hanseatic Ambassador of the City of Frankfurt (Oder): "These were four exhausting, fulfilling and meaningful days that have served the laying of the exchange and meeting in the best way. Civic and public spirit unite the members of the New Hanseatic League throughout Europe. This was also noticeable everywhere at the 43rd Hansa Convention in Toruń. My special thanks to the members of our double city delegation, who have represented Frankfurt (Oder) and Słubice here very well."
