Shortly after the start of the new school year begins also at the adult education center (VHS) Frankfurt (Oder) the fall semester 2023.

The VHS offers a wide range of education and meeting in the areas of languages, health, culture, society, basic education, IT and career. In addition, there is an offer of family education in the Parent-Child Center North of the Adult Education Center.

Elisabeth Lüdeking, director of the VHS: "We are very pleased that we can fully start teaching again after the years under Corona conditions. We notice that more and more Frankfurterinnen and Frankfurter return to our courses and educational events or are new to it."

New for the fall semester is a series of events on artificial intelligence (AI). In addition to an introductory event on basic application, those interested can learn about the benefits of ChatGPT, the use of AI for image creation and editing, and the possibility of writing books with AI.

In the VHS language program, there is a chance to learn English, Polish, Spanish, Russian, Latin and Ukrainian, among other languages, from the beginning. Another new offer is "Language in the Pot," which combines language learning with the cooking of typical local dishes such as the Polish cabbage stew Bigos.

In the program area Society and Local History, two events revolve around trees in the city. A lecture on "Trees of the Future" is about climate-adapted trees. The speaker takes a look at the existing park and avenue landscape in Frankfurt (Oder) and gives tips for own plantings. The VHS also invites to a walk to special trees in the city center, where participants will learn more about their characteristics and history in the urban space.

In the area of health, the VHS offers, among other things, to get to know meditation as a holistic relaxation method. Also the Kochen can be learned in the autumn semester in various ways. So there are cooking workshops around the egg, the lavender as a medicinal plant and food for a fit brain.

New are courses on cell phone and portrait photography. In addition, workshops for families will be held during the fall vacations, where participants can learn to build and craft things themselves.
