The Fair Intercultural Summer (FIKS) combines the nationwide Fair Week with the Intercultural Week and has been an important part of the development of a diverse and sustainable culture in Frankfurt (Oder) for many years.

This year, the FIKS begins on Saturday, June 1 with a Fair Breakfast.
On 14 September, the summer program will reach its climax with the "Festival of Diversity".

The spectrum of events ranges from festivals, musical and culinary contributions from different cultures around the world to art activities, workshops, presentations, exhibitions, discussions and lectures.

The FIKS is organized by the integration network THINK with its diverse associations and sponsors.

The Puerto Alegre association invites you to the Fair Breakfast on 1 June from 9.30 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. (Brückenplac Mostowy, Carl-Philipp-Emanuel-Bach-Straße). Following a breakfast with fair trade and regionally produced food, Prof. Dr. phil. habil. Gilles Reckinger from Graz will talk about "Bitter oranges - a new face of slavery in Europe" and report on slave-like living conditions, migration policy and price pressure.

His ethnographic photo exhibition, which is part of the Christian Encounter Days program, can be viewed on site until 9 June at Brückenplac Mostowy.

The association asks for registration by Tuesday, May 28 at the Weltladen, Carl-Philipp-Emanuel-Bach-Straße 20 or by telephone on 0335 530285.
