From Thursday, January 11 to Thursday, February 8, 2024, works from the Artothek will once again be on display in Gallery B of the Frankfurter Kunstverein, Lindenstraße 4. This year's exhibition of works from the Artothek takes a closer look at the various Frankfurt faces that have exhibited at Galerie B over the past decades.

The focus is on works created for the city during the GDR era. The various images of people and portraits make references to the artistic activity and commissioned works of the GDR. They also provide an insight into everyday life in the GDR and the city.

Those who would like to meet the artists in person will have the opportunity to do so at the vernissage on January 11 at 7.30 p.m. or at a discussion evening on Tuesday, January 30 at 5 p.m.

The Artothek was founded in the early 1990s from the holdings of the Building Department for Visual Arts and Monument Conservation and the Center for Artistic Workshops. Today, interested citizens, local companies and institutions have the opportunity to borrow works of art from the collection.
