The European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) is opening the Viadrina Coworking Space on Wednesday, 15 April, from 5.30 p.m. In future, people will be able to learn, research and work here individually and collaboratively in a pleasant and inspiring atmosphere. The former canteen between the Auditorium Maximum and the student hall of residence at Logenstraße 3 was converted over a five-year construction period. On 1,400 square metres, the coworking space offers a place divided into several areas that can be used not only by Viadrina students and employees but also by the regional public.
Brandenburg's Minister of Science Dr Manja Schüle and Viadrina President Prof Dr Eduard Mühle will give opening speeches. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to explore the rooms – from the spacious meeting area to flexible learning and working spaces to the creative start-up area. To familiarise themselves with the Viadrina Coworking Space and the idea behind it, guests can take part in workshops on the opening day. Whether in a short writing event, creative brainstorming about campus ideas, testing out a 3D printing station or exploring AI possibilities in everyday life – the opening programme offers an insight into the inspiring and inclusive atmosphere of the Viadrina Coworking Space. Members of the Brandenburg State Orchestra Frankfurt (Oder) will accompany the opening with music.
The opening of the coworking space will take place after the Viadrina Debate. On the topic "What is work worth? Between platform economy, financial markets and social upheaval" will be discussed by former SPD General Secretary Kevin Kühnert (Finanzwende e. V.) and Prof. Dr Jana Costas (Chair of Business Administration, in particular Human Resources, Labour & Management) in the Viadrina Audimax from 4.00 pm. It will be moderated by Mads Pankow, publicist and political consultant.
