For over 30 years, the Interreg funding program, or as it is officially known, "European Territorial Cooperation", has been promoting cooperation between stakeholders and countries. Always with the aim of strengthening cooperation across borders in Europe.
Now, for the first time, an initiative from the school administration office of the Oder-Spree district is being implemented: the "Education connects" project, which was developed together with the vocational school center from Sulechów, sponsored by the Polish district of Zielona Góra.
With the start of the partnership agreement, which was signed today by district administrators Frank Steffen and Tadeusz Pająk in Sulechów, the districts and their vocational training institutions will create two competence centers in the field of Industry 4.0.
District Administrator Frank Steffen: "As the largest vocational training center in the state of Brandenburg, our Oberstufenzentrum Oder-Spree, with the district as the school authority, has a special responsibility for this forward-looking topic, as digitization is a challenge for all areas."
The attractiveness of vocational training is to be increased by establishing consistent, digitally networked educational opportunities. To this end, investments in equipment for digital learning labs are being promoted. This is an important contribution as part of the development of the Oder-Spree upper secondary school center and thus a decisive driver for the development of our region. Small and medium-sized training companies in particular can benefit from these investments in training.
