The second season of the driving license exchange concerned the birth cohorts 1959 to 1964. The paper documents still existing with this group of persons should be exchanged to 19 January 2023 into an EU card driving license.
The next season of the driving license exchange currently affects the driving license holders, which are still in possession of a paper document, the birth cohorts 1965 to 1970. These must be exchanged by January 19, 2024.
The driver's license holders of the birth cohorts 1959 to 1964, who did not meet the deadline set by January 19, 2023 to exchange, now participate in road traffic with an invalid driver's license. This is an administrative offense that can be punished by the police with a 10.00 euro warning fine. It is strongly recommended to make the exchange.
The currently affected persons of the birth cohorts 1965 to 1970 should keep an eye on the set deadline and strive for the exchange in the course of the year 2023.
