IHK Ostbrandenburg is collecting data for the new rent index until the end of August – craft businesses are also invited to take part

If you are an entrepreneur looking for new commercial space, an owner of a commercial property who wants to set a fair market rent or a real estate agent who wants to provide comprehensive advice to their clients – an accurate rent index can help. The East Brandenburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) is currently updating the rent index for commercial properties and is asking companies to take part in the data collection by means of an anonymous survey. Numerous responses have already been received since the launch in June. In addition to IHK companies, the call is also aimed specifically at craft businesses that use production, storage or office space.

"Whether it's a hairdressing salon, joinery or repair workshop – anyone renting or letting commercial space can contribute to market transparency with just a few clicks," says Anika Scholz. As an IHK specialist for legal, market and professional access, she is responsible for the 2025 commercial rent index. "Commercial rents are freely negotiable. Anyone who knows what is customary in the area can make better decisions, whether as a tenant or landlord. And the more feedback we receive, the more meaningful the result will be," says Scholz.

The anonymous survey will run until August 31. It only takes a few minutes to complete. Anyone who rents or lets a commercial property can take part – regardless of whether they are an IHK member or a trade business.
