Whoever has a great idea for a project in the city center can now look forward to a new possibility of financial support. The Cityfonds, a project of the City Management and the City of Frankfurt (Oder), offers a grant of up to 50% of the total cost for projects that are carried out in the city center and bring added value to the place and the public.
Interested parties can apply for funding through the website www.frankfurt-slubice.eu and will receive feedback on the approval of the project within two months. The main criteria for funding are that the project must take place in a defined downtown area and result in a revitalization, beautification or innovation of the place. Example projects include street festivals, mobile greening, public art, bike racks or public seating. Eligibility to apply is not restricted - with the exception of political parties and religious institutions.
"Downtowns are undergoing major changes, new demands and vacancies right now. Frankfurt's city center is not spared from this either. We see the Cityfonds as an effective tool to breathe new life into the place and beautify it, albeit in a small way. I look forward to fresh ideas that rediscover the city center as a place of gathering and make visions of the future tangible and tangible," said Stephanie Matis, City Manager of Frankfurt (Oder).
In addition to a positive effect on the city center, the City Fund is also intended to promote commitment and co-design in public space and create moments of identification.
The Cityfonds is part of the project "Leuchtende Magistrale", for which Frankfurt (Oder) has received a grant from the federal funding program "Zukunftsfähige Innenstädte und Zentren" from the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Construction.
