The "Career Compass 2024", the largest training and job fair in East Brandenburg, which took place on 24/25 May in and around the Giebelseehalle in Petershagen, attracted an even larger number of interested parties this year than last year. Hundreds of visitors, most of them 9th–12th grade students, flocked to the exhibition grounds at the opening to find out about their career opportunities and make contact with potential employers.
Prominent opening with ribbon cutting
The official kick-off for Career Compass was given on Friday morning by a high-profile panel from politics and business. In the presence of Simona Koss, Member of the Bundestag, Claudia Zinke, State Secretary of the Brandenburg Ministry of Education, Marco Rutter, Mayor of Petershagen, Rainer Schinkel, Deputy Mayor of the district of MOL, and Andreas Jonas, Head of STIC Economic Development, a red ribbon was cut to mark the opening and the fair was then opened with a blast from confetti cannons.
Positive feedback from exhibitors
The exhibitors were delighted with the response to Career Compass. "We had many good discussions with interested students," said representatives of Ardagh Glass GmbH from the region. "Some have even applied for jobs with us." The Niederberger Group also praised the high quality of the visitors and the good organization of the trade fair. "We are very satisfied with our presence at the fair and expect to be able to initiate many new training and employment contracts this year," said the team from Märkisch-Oderland Hospital.

Broad range and diverse supporting program attract visitors
Over 100 exhibitors from the region presented a wide range of training and job offers, internship opportunities, further training opportunities and degree courses at Career Compass. In addition to the opportunity to talk to potential employers, the fair also offered a varied supporting program with job interview training and presentations on the application process. There was a particularly large crowd at the photo shoot, where visitors could have themselves professionally photographed for their application documents free of charge.

Great response from students and parents
"Career Compass is a complete success," summarizes Constanze Schütt, contact person for the fair at STIC Wirtschaftsfördergesellschaft Märkisch-Oderland. "The great response over the two days shows how important this fair is for young people in the region in terms of career guidance. According to our information, many companies were able to successfully establish contact with potential trainees and applicants. We are very satisfied with how the fair went and are delighted that we were able to offer visitors two informative and exciting days."
