In accordance with Section 35 of the Brandenburg Nature Conservation Implementation Act, the Nature Conservation Advisory Board at the lower nature conservation authority of the city of Frankfurt (Oder) is to be filled for the term of office from 2025 to 2029 in order to represent the interests of nature conservation and landscape conservation as well as to provide scientific and expert advice.

Interested citizens have until August 23, 2024 to apply for voluntary work on the Nature Conservation Advisory Board.

If you are interested in serving on the advisory board, you can submit your application to the Environment Agency. The informal letter of application with details of your specialist knowledge and experience should be sent to:

The Nature Conservation Advisory Board is intended to support the nature conservation authority with suggestions and proposals, counteract undesirable developments in nature and the landscape and communicate the goals and intentions of nature conservation and landscape management to the public.

The Advisory Board is to be involved in the preparation of all important decisions and measures of the nature conservation authority and is appointed for a period of five years. Citizens who are particularly knowledgeable and experienced in nature conservation and landscape management are to be appointed to the advisory board. Specialists are those who have particular knowledge in the fields of botany, zoology, ecology, landscape conservation, landscape planning or related fields. Furthermore, interested parties are expected to have teamwork and communication skills in order to enable trusting cooperation within the advisory board.

The members of the advisory board work on a voluntary basis. It is made up of seven members and their respective deputies.

Officials of the district-free city of Frankfurt (Oder) may not be members of the advisory board at the lower nature conservation authority.
