On Wednesday, 29 April, the conference "The Business Bridge 2026: People, Technologies, Borders?" will take place at the Collegium Polonicum. For the first time in this format, the event will bring together stakeholders from Frankfurt (Oder) and Słubice to discuss economic development, securing skilled labour, location conditions and cross-border cooperation in the German-Polish twin city. The conference will be held in German and Polish with simultaneous translation.
The first Business Bridge conference will focus on the opportunities of a more closely networked economic area on both sides of the Oder. Contributions are planned on the joint economic policy framework for the years 2026 to 2030, the "twin city barometer" with demographic and economic indicators and the training of future skilled workers for companies from the region. The programme will be complemented by a panel of business-related institutions and a practical forum with entrepreneurs from various sectors.
The conference particularly thrives on the close cooperation of its partners. The Collegium Polonicum provides the venue and brings together stakeholders from the worlds of science, business and politics. Other partners and contributors such as the Kostrzyn-Słubice Special Economic Zone (K-SSSE), the Investor Centre Ostbrandenburg (ICOB), the Brandenburg Economic Development Corporation (WFBB) and the German Association of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (BVMW) are helping to ensure that the conference offers concrete information, experience and contacts for companies and institutions on both sides of the border.
The first edition of the Business Bridge is designed as a prelude to a more in-depth exchange. At the end of the event, conclusions will be drawn for further meetings and topics for the continuation of the format will be collected. The conference thus sends out a conscious signal: the economic future of the twin city should be shaped together, in partnership and with a clear view of concrete needs and potential.
