With the grand final concert "Rhapsody in blue" on Frankfurt's Anger, the summer festival "Klassik ohne Grenzen" will come to an end on September 2 at 7 p.m. Especially for this event, musicians from the Brandenburg State Orchestra Frankfurt and the Philharmonic Orchestra Zielona Góra have joined forces to form a festival orchestra under the direction of Rafał Kłoczko.

"Rhapsody in blue" is a bow to the classics of the jazz and musical scene, when works by Leonard Bernstein, Andrew Lloyd Webber and George Gershwin are heard in a symphonic format. The German-Greek pianist Danae Dörken complements the orchestra congenially.

"We are looking forward to a great open-air classical music festival for the whole family," says Tomasz Pilarski, the head of city marketing and organizer of the music festival. The program will include Gershwin's world-famous composition that gives the festival its title, as well as suites from "Cats," "Evita," "Phantom of the Opera" and "West Side Story," and film music from "Jurassic Park" and "Titanic." Seating is provided: around 2000 chairs will be set up on the Anger for the concert. Well-known presenters from Antenne Brandenburg will lead through the program.

The history of the Brandenburg State Orchestra Frankfurt goes back to 1842. After reunification, it established itself as a symphony orchestra with an impact far beyond the state borders of Brandenburg. This is reflected in its busy guest performance schedule, which takes the orchestra on concert tours across Germany, Europe and Japan.

The repertoire of the Zielona Góra Philharmonic Orchestra includes oratorios and symphonies as well as popular compositions. Many works by contemporary Polish composers, including pieces by Zielona Góra citizens, have been premiered here. The orchestra collaborates with the most prominent international soloists and conductors.

"Is the young pianist the discovery of the year?" asked the classical music magazine crescendo - and answered in the affirmative. "On the way to the very top" also see it the reviewers of the magazine concerti. The German-Greek pianist Danae Dörken belongs to the elite of internationally sought-after artists:inside a new generation that shines with breathtaking technique, extraordinary stage presence and musical depth.
