On December 1, 2023, the state's most important business prize, the "Brandenburg Future Prize" 2023, was awarded to six companies at the Holiday Inn Berlin Airport Conference Center in Schönefeld, two of which were from Oderland-Spree.

The Brandenburg Future Prize honors special entrepreneurial achievements. And thus examples that encourage: creative, active and innovative entrepreneurs who roll up their sleeves and invest in the future, even in difficult times. No other prize stands for the diversity of small and medium-sized enterprises like the competition launched in 2004 by the Chambers of Industry and Commerce and the Chambers of Crafts. This is demonstrated by this year's winners. They are united by a passion for entrepreneurship and a connection to their home country and its people. The award winners generated a turnover of more than 73 million euros in 2022. They employ around 530 men and women and train over 45 young people. In several rounds, the winners prevailed against a total of 104 applicants in an extremely difficult environment. That was the highest number since 2016.

The companies nominated by the main jury had a great chance of winning the "Brandenburg Future Prize" in 2023. From the Oderland-Spree region, IMD Labor Oderland GmbH from Frankfurt (Oder), Tinglev Elementfabrik GmbH from Altlandsberg, GOLEM - Kunst und Baukeramik GmbH from Jacobsdorf OT Sieversdorf and Elektro Eggert GmbH & Co. KG from Altlandsberg OT Bruchmühle came out on top. Six companies were ultimately selected as winners of the "Brandenburg Future Prize" 2023, including two companies from the Oderland-Spree region. In addition to a high-quality image film, they will receive a media presence, a stele, a certificate and the right to advertise themselves with the "Brandenburg Future Prize" winner label.

The winners of the Brandenburg Future Prize 2023 from Oderland-Spree are:

Tinglev Elementfabrik GmbH from Altlandsberg
Tinglev stands for lightweight solid houses. From planning and consulting to production, freight and assembly. A key point is the company's strong focus on employee satisfaction. Targeted measures and initiatives have created a positive working environment that strengthens employee commitment and motivation.

GOLEM – Kunst und Baukeramik GmbH from Jacobsdorf OT Sieversdorf
Founder Tomas Grzimek formed a company without which the majority of restorations of Brandenburg churches would have been unthinkable. In the 1990s, GOLEM mainly produced bricks according to painstakingly reconstructed "original recipes", but production shifted to handmade tiles from the Wilhelminian era (unique in Europe) and the restoration of historic buildings. www.golem-baukeramik.de

The economic councillor of the district of Märkisch-Oderland and spokesman for the Oderland-Spree municipal working group, Rainer Schinkel, explains: "Our region is supported by many companies that are innovative and sometimes compete on the world market in their sectors. This is made visible by the Future Prize. We are proud of the companies and the companies can be proud of what they have achieved and have their sights set on the future."

Sascha Gehm, 1st Alderman, Oder-Spree district, Head of the Department for Construction, Order and Environment: "The winners of the Future Prize from the Oderland-Spree region are impressive proof of how diverse and dynamic our companies are. True hidden champions."

Claus Junghanns, Mayor and Deputy Mayor for Public Order, Safety, Economy and Central Services of the City of Frankfurt (Oder): "I congratulate the winners of the Future Prize and am particularly pleased about the two award-winning companies from our region. The fact that IMD Labor Oderland, as a Frankfurt-based company, managed to be nominated for the award from over 100 applications is also a great tribute to this innovative company. Congratulations to the team at IMD Labor Oderland!"

The head of the Oderland-Spree regional planning office, Wolfgang Rump, is delighted with the innovative projects and ideas from the Oderland-Spree region. "The Oderland-Spree region is a hotspot for creative minds and innovative companies. The Brandenburg Future Prize 2023 offers an excellent platform to showcase and recognize these outstanding achievements. I am delighted that four companies from Oderland-Spree have been nominated and that two of them are among the winners of the "Brandenburg Future Prize" 2023 and were able to prevail against 104 strong competitors."
