Boundless sound in the garden of the Kleist Museum – Viadrina students invite you to the ‘HE(A)RING – wortzart’ festival

Three days of international music, performances, workshops and guided tours – that’s the student-organised festival “HE(A)RING – wortzart”, running from Friday 10 July to Sunday 12 July in the garden of the Kleist Museum. As part of the HanseStadtFest “Bunter Hering”, this festival invites visitors to a musical oasis. In a relaxed atmosphere, they can enjoy performances by musicians from Germany, Poland and beyond, take part in creative workshops and discover the Kleist Museum on guided tours. 

The programme, developed by students at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder), promotes understanding beyond language and nationality. Admission is free.

Programme

Nine concerts spanning jazz, pop and sound art will offer a varied, international programme on Friday (6 pm to 10 pm), Saturday (2 pm to 10 pm) and Sunday (12 noon to 6 pm). Musical highlights include performances by soul singer Charlotte Colace on Friday from 9 pm and the Polish duo WCZASY with their danceable mix of electro, disco and folk. On Sunday from 4 pm, the queer-feminist Berlin band Gazino Neukölln will bring the festival to a close with their cover versions of pop and Arabesque hits.

The supporting programme includes guided tours of the Kleist Museum’s special exhibition (Saturday at 3 pm and 5 pm, and Sunday at 1 pm and 3 pm), a music quiz (Saturday at 5 pm) and a painting workshop (Sunday). On all three days of the festival, visitors will have the opportunity to design their own jute bags.
