With its favorable location directly between the German capital Berlin and the border with Poland and its scenic, cultural and economic diversity, Frankfurt (Oder) offers the best conditions for living and working. Nevertheless, many companies and employers here are also confronted with a persistent shortage of skilled workers. Similar challenges are emerging on the training market.

The Frankfurt 2023 campaign has set itself the task of tackling this problem and has two main target groups in particular: potential trainees and career starters as well as experienced skilled workers. Targeted measures have been developed to reach these people and support Frankfurt companies in their search for employees. The focus is on the convincing presentation of job and training opportunities with Frankfurt's partners as well as the presentation of the advantages of Frankfurt (Oder).

The campaign was developed by the City Marketing department of Messe und Veranstaltungs GmbH. Tomasz Pilarski, head of the city marketing department, emphasizes: "Frankfurt (Oder) has already successfully changed its image and overcome the outdated image of a grey city in the eastern province. Now is the time to strategically and sustainably draw attention to our city as an attractive place to live and work in order to appeal to potential trainees, young professionals and experienced specialists."

The campaign is supported by fourteen Frankfurt companies, the "Frankfurt Partners". These companies include Autohaus Franz GmbH, Elektro Jahn GmbH & Co. KG, FiANTEC Provisionslösungen GmbH, Frankfurter Brauhaus GmbH, Frankfurter Dienstleistungsholding GmbH, FWA Frankfurter Wasser- und Abwassergesellschaft mbH, Semiconductor FFO GmbH, IHP - Leibniz Institute for Innovative Microelectronics, Investor Center Ostbrandenburg GmbH, Klinikum Frankfurt (Oder) GmbH, Wichern Diakonie Frankfurt Oder e.V., Wohnungswirtschaft Frankfurt (Oder) GmbH, the Krebs & Schulze group of companies and Yamaichi Electronics Deutschland Manufacturing GmbH.

Claus Junghanns, Mayor and 1st Councillor for Order, Security, Economy and Investments, emphasizes the decisive role of the Frankfurt partners in the campaign: "Every player who participates in the campaign as a Frankfurt partner strengthens the charisma of our city and supports our central concern. We would like to express our sincere thanks to the companies involved, as their commitment not only contributes to the success of the campaign, but also uses the city's positive image for their own benefit. Together, we are creating added value from which all sides can benefit."

As part of the Frankfurt campaign, the training fair "Die Mitmachmesse" will be supported on November 25, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the exhibition halls at Frankfurt Westkreuz. The fair offers the opportunity not only to obtain a wealth of information on work and training opportunities in Frankfurt (Oder) and the region, but also to try out specific fields of activity for yourself at the more than 100 exhibiting companies.

Trainees from Messe und Veranstaltungs GmbH will be presenting the professions of "event technology specialist" and "event management assistant". Stefanie Schlenstedt, one of the few female stage and lighting technicians in Germany, talks about her career path: "I started my training as an event technician at the Kleist Forum in 2013. I love this job, which is so diverse and varied - especially in a theater like the Kleist Forum with around 150 different performances a year. That's why I've gone back to school in recent years and, with a lot of support from the company, have gained two master's degrees. Now I'm training young people myself, some of whom we take on, some of whom come back to us or who find their professional happiness in other theaters."
