On Saturday, 2 May and Sunday, 3 May, both Frankfurt and Słubice artists will open their studio doors as part of the nationwide Open Studio Days and invite art enthusiasts to get to know their work and the art scene in the twin city first hand.

This year, 35 artists are taking part in the event and showing their works of painting, sculpture, textile and sound art in eight studios, two joint exhibitions and three galleries.

The Open Studio Days will open on Saturday, 2 May, from 1.30 p.m. at the Haus der Künste (Lindenstraße 4-7) with a welcoming address by Lord Mayor Dr Axel Strasser and musical entertainment by the duo Pan-Doublets (Krystin Lange and Monika Leonhardt).

The Haus der Künste with its studios and exhibitions is also the central event location this year and is open to visitors throughout the weekend.

On both Saturday and Sunday, the workshop "Drawing techniques in Neuroart and other painting techniques" will take place in Monika Leonhardt's studio in the Haus der Künste. On both days, Günter Neubauer von Knobelsdorff invites you to the studio tour "Techniques of Painting" in his studio in Rosengarten. In the workshop of Sandy Oberländer and Nicola Jahn in Ulmenweg, the band Boggy Schmidt will be playing on Saturday and guest artist Monia Ben Larbi will be reading on the subject of healing on Sunday. Kunsthof GaRo in Booßen is organising the project "Mal mal was!" for children and children-at-heart on both days and is offering the guided tour "Dem Imker über die Schulter geschaut".

A joint exhibition will be on display in St. Marienkirche church on 2 and 3 May, featuring Christian Kreisel, Kerstin Hoffmann, Marie Kautz, Steffen Schmolke and Wolfram Spyra. It presents paintings, graphics, spatial installations, sound and textile art.

Exhibitions are also on show at Galerie B, Spectrum Galerie and Magistrale Kunsthalle.
