On 10 July, the city of Frankfurt (Oder) received a planning application for a new project by Alcaro. According to the application, the logistics and property company will continue to invest in the expansion of its Frankfurt (Oder) site and plans to build a new warehouse. This Hall C is to cover an area of 20,000 square metres and be built on a 40,000-square-metre plot.
The hall will complement Alcaro’s site on the A12. The largest of the warehouses built there by Alcaro has a floor area of 94,000 square metres.
The international group Ceva Logistics is in the process of setting up a large logistics centre there, which will create between 500 and 800 new jobs. The first recruitments have already taken place. The recruitment process is currently in full swing. Alcaro expects to be able to start construction of Hall C in late 2026 or early 2027. Construction is expected to take approximately one year.
Arne Haeger, project developer at Alcaro, said: “We want to further expand our presence in Frankfurt (Oder). We believe in this location. It is an ideal site in the heart of Europe and situated on one of the main transport arteries. We feel at home here. We have a very good working relationship with the city of Frankfurt (Oder) and its administration. That is not something you see every day and is a clear locational advantage for us. We are able to achieve our goals here, whilst also taking into account what the city of Frankfurt (Oder) wants.”
Lord Mayor Dr Axel Strasser commented on the planned expansion: “It sends a strong signal to us that an investor says they believe in Frankfurt (Oder) and feel very much at home here. As a city, we are closely supporting this relocation process and the subsequent construction work. I would like to express my sincere thanks to all the staff in our city administration who have contributed to the rapid development of this site. Alcaro and Ceva Logistics have specifically praised us for this pace and the constructive cooperation. A new warehouse means that further companies can set up here, thereby creating more new jobs. This demonstrates that Frankfurt, thanks to its location at the heart of Europe, its connectivity, good energy and transport links, and the land available here, has great opportunities and a positive economic future.”
