On Saturday, 14 March 2026, the Oder-Spree district will be conducting an alerting and deployment exercise for the fire protection unit (BSE-GÜ). The aim of the exercise is to train the cooperation of the units and, in particular, driving in formation with emergency vehicles under realistic conditions.

The exercise will take place from 08:00 a.m. to around 1:00 p.m. Driving with blue flashing lights will also be practised as part of the training. The exercise is carried out on the basis of the applicable exemptions from the Federal Ministry of Transport and in accordance with Section 46 (2) of the Road Traffic Regulations for practice drives with blue flashing lights and sirens.

Planned exercise route

The "driving in a formation" part of the exercise is planned for the period from 09:00 a.m. to around 1:00 p.m. The route is as follows:

The start is at the Fürstenwalde/Spree Fire and Disaster Control Centre at Lise-Meitner-Straße 12 in 15517 Fürstenwalde/Spree.

Course of the route:

  • B168 direction Beeskow
  • B87 bypass Beeskow direction Lübben 
  • B246 direction Storkow 
  • Storkow (Burgstraße / Kummersdorfer Straße) 
  • L23 via Spreenhagen to junction L38 
  • L38 direction BAB 10 to GVZ Freienbrink (Eichenweg, Freienbrink rescue centre)
  • After a stopover in Freienbrink, the return journey is via:
  • L38 direction BAB 10
  • Junction Freienbrink direction motorway junction Spreeau 
  • BAB 12 direction Frankfurt (Oder) 
  • Junction Fürstenwalde-West resp. Fürstenwalde-Ost

Destination: Fürstenwalde/Spree fire brigade and disaster control centre.
 

Notes for road users

During the exercise, there may be occasional encounters with groups of emergency vehicles with blue lights switched on along the route. The journeys will be carried out with particular caution and consideration. All emergency services involved have been comprehensively briefed in advance to ensure that the exercise runs safely.

The district of Oder-Spree asks all road users for their understanding and increased attention in the area of the exercise route. Such exercises are an important part of ensuring operational readiness in disaster control and being able to act quickly and in a coordinated manner in the event of an emergency.
