Additional lay assessors and honorary judges wanted

On behalf of the mayor, the city administration of Frankfurt (Oder) is currently - for the term of office 2024 to 2028 - drawing up lists of nominees for the election of lay judges at the Regional and Local Court Frankfurt (Oder) and for the election of honorary judges at the Administrative Court Frankfurt (Oder).

So far, 82 citizens of the city of Frankfurt (Oder) have applied for the honorary office as a lay assessor, are still looking for another 86.

opinion, common sense and sense of justice of the Frankfurterinnen and Frankfurter are important and desired. Aldermen and honorary judges participate in the administration of justice and are an important part of the judicial process - from the indictment to the verdict. At the end of the trial, they judge guilt or innocence together with the professional judge. They also help decide the amount of the sentence. Courts therefore look for committed people from democratic society every five years.
