5th network meeting of the regional economic promotion

The stakeholders of the economic development have exchanged views on the joint focal points of work for the fifth time. For the first time, the meeting was held together with the members of the WG umbrella brand, which was initiated as part of the GRW-I project "Regional Management Oderland-Spree - Branding Process". Thematized were, among other things, the status of the commercial space monitoring, the development of the Innovation and Education Center Aviation Strausberg and the web presence of the umbrella brand.

Mr. Jonas of the STIC Economic Development Corporation MOL GmbH welcomed the participants and presented the work of the economic development corporation and the current core topics and projects. Briefly, he reported on the planned expansion of the "1A Gründerzentrum", the strengthening of the network "Unternehmensnachfolge Oderland", further commercial space development projects, the recruitment of skilled workers, the development of a training guide for schools in the Märkisch-Oderland area, the implementation of the trade fair event Career Compass on 05 and 06 May 2023 and due to the increasing relevance, the promotion and expansion of the already existing climate protection and energy office.

From the perspective of the Regional Management Metropolitan Region East, Ms. Hohmann informed about the current projects, including the planned 4th Business Day of the Metropolitan Region East on the topic of "Health Care of Tomorrow" as well as the planned initiation of a specialist forum on the topic of commuting mobility.

Mr. Repsch from the Brandenburg Economic Development Board (WFBB) explained the current status of the commercial space monitoring as well as the further procedure and planned activities within the framework of the commercial space concept.

Following this, Mr. Müller from the Ostbrandenburgische Wirtschaftsförderungsgesellschaft (OWF) reported on the regional community @see and the planned event and publicity formats, including a training exchange, information events at the upper secondary schools, an ambassador campaign and the summer festival on June 9, 2023 at Hubertushöhe Castle in Storkow (Mark).

The design agency FischundBlume presented the newly designed web presence of the umbrella brand Oderland-Spree during the event.

Finally, Mr. Jonas from STIC Wirtschaftsfördergesellschaft Märkisch-Oderland mbH and Ms. Kühnel, managing director of Strausberger Flugplatz GmbH, presented the project at Strausberg airfield. Its strategic development and the planned Innovation and Education Center Aviation (IBZL), should be advanced this year and provide new impetus for the region.
