This year, the pre-Christmas season at Frankfurt's Kleist Forum begins with the adventures of the little witch, who desperately wants to be one of the grown-ups and learns to go her own way in the process. The guest performance by the Hans Otto Theater Potsdam can be seen as a family performance on December 7 at 3 p.m. There are only a few tickets left for the morning performances for school classes and daycare groups from 2 to 6 December.

Even with magical powers, life is sometimes difficult: at 127 years old, the little witch is not yet allowed to take part in Walpurgis Night. She defiantly sneaks in anyway. But her aunt, Muhme Rumpumpel, of all people, betrays her to the head witch. The punishment is also an opportunity: if the little witch passes a test in front of the witches' council the following year, she will be allowed to dance at Walpurgis Night despite her youth. With great enthusiasm and advice from her friend, the raven Abraxas, she sets about memorizing the witches' book. She wants to prove what a good witch she is and performs good deeds with magic. On exam day, however, she discovers that the witches' council has very different ideas of what a "good" witch should be – now it's up to her to decide which rules she wants to follow.

A contemporary version of Otfried Preußler's classic children's book that questions authority and encourages children to trust their own feelings in the search for good and evil, right and wrong.
