Who is the best reader in Frankfurt (Oder)? At the regional round of the 65th German Book Trade Reading Competition, the winners of the school competitions in Frankfurt (Oder) will once again be competing against each other. With around 600,000 participants every year, the reading competition, which was launched in 1959, is the oldest and largest school competition in Germany.

The Frankfurt city competition will take place on Monday, January 15, 2024 at 2 p.m. in the Chamber Music Hall of the Music School (Collegienstraße 10). Pupils from the 6th grade of all elementary school will then present text passages to a three-member jury. The Frankfurt city competition is supported by the Ulrich von Hutten bookshop.

The winner of the city competition will go on to the subsequent district competition. The stages lead from the school decisions via city/district, district and state level to the national final with the 16 state winners in Berlin in June.
