The Brandenburg Literature Council, the Kleist Museum Foundation and the Frankfurt (Oder) City and Regional Library are once again inviting you to a special programme on International Women's Day this year as part of the Brandenburg Women's Weeks 2026: The authors Franziska Hauser and Maren Wurster will be guests at the Kleist Museum on Sunday, 8 March, and will engage in conversation with the audience during a reading followed by a coffee klatch. The event starts at 2 p.m. Admission to the event is free.

"Too tired for anger?" – is the motto of this year's programme for International Women's Day at the Kleist Museum, to which the Brandenburgischer Literaturrat e.V., the Kleist Museum Foundation and the Stadt- und Regionalbibliothek Frankfurt (Oder) have invited the authors Franziska Hauser and Maren Wurster.

From 2 pm, the editors of the book "Ost*West*frau*" will explore the question of whether East and West feminists still don't understand each other or whether they can finally learn from each other. It's about professional equality, childhood influences, points of friction in everyday life – and, time and again, language.

The reading will be moderated by Friederike Frach, Managing Director of the Brandenburg Literature Council.

After the reading, guests are invited to talk to the authors about the book presented, relate it to their own experiences and strengthen democratic exchange in an informal setting.

The event is organised by the Brandenburgischer Literaturrat e. V., the Kleist Museum Foundation and the Frankfurt (Oder) City and Regional Library as part of the 36th Brandenburg Women's Weeks 2026 "WTF – Anger Meets Feminism" and organised by the German Trade Union Federation Frankfurt (Oder), the Equal Opportunities Officer of the City of Frankfurt (Oder) and the Local Partnership for Democracy.
