Opening of the Heinersdorf practical research center © Präsenzstelle Fürstenwalde

On March 21, the Praxisforschungsstelle (PFS) für Lebensmodelle im Alter auf dem Land was opened in the Heinersdorfer Kulturzentrum. It is a partner in the "Alterperimentale" transfer alliance of the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg and the Catholic University of Applied Sciences Berlin.

The aim of the practical research center is to improve the quality of life of older people in the peripheral German-Polish border region.

Annegret Huth, head of the practical research center in Heinersdorf: "The PFS Heinersdorf wants to help older people to stay in their home village for as long as possible and actively shape their lives in old age. To achieve this, we don't want to do research about them, but with them. We work together with scientists from various disciplines to look beyond the horizon and see what good models for housing, mobility, etc. already exist elsewhere. In this way, we want to develop and test tailor-made concepts for our region and support their introduction in practice."
