On Saturday, November 29, 2025, more than 100 employers and technical colleges from the Oderland-Spree region will be presenting training and study opportunities in three halls at the Frankfurt exhibition grounds from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The special thing about this hands-on training fair is already in the name: Each company presents its very practical day-to-day work as an activity to try out and take part in, giving a realistic insight into everyday working life. The fair therefore appeals to young people, parents and anyone who wants to plan their professional future.
"What happens after school - many young people who finish their school career are often not yet sure. With our training fair, we want to show this target group in particular possible ways in which they can put their talent to good use, complete an apprenticeship in our region and thus shape their future at home," says Claus Junghanns, Mayor of the City of Frankfurt (Oder). "On the other hand, with this event we want to offer our regional companies a platform where they can present their daily work and apprenticeships to young people in order to inspire some of them to join their company and thus attract the urgently needed skilled workers," continues Junghanns.
Some language barriers can be bridged with the help of the employees of the Municipal Integration Center, so that everyone can get into conversation with the companies. Individual guided tours of the trade fair and language support for personal discussions are offered as required. The translation service is available in Arabic, English, Polish, Darsi, Farsi and Russian.
This year, it will also be possible to take a break with a hot drink in the chill-out area at the city marketing stand before, for example, professional application photos are taken, which can be taken digitally.
The Frankfurt (Oder) Training Fair – The Hands-on Fair is organized in cooperation with the partners Employment Agency, Frankfurt (Oder) Chamber of Skilled Crafts, East Brandenburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Brandenburg Economic Development Agency and the City of Frankfurt (Oder).
